Ali Ramezani, the fair's spokesperson, said on his social media accounts that Yemen has taken over the role previously held by India.

Initially, India was chosen as the book fair's special guest, but due to restrictions on Indian nationals visiting Iran, the organizers decided to substitute India with Yemen, Mehr reported on Sunday.

In response to these developments, Ramazani issued a statement saying that India's absence is due to continuous limitations imposed on Indian people in Iran as a result of Operation True Promise. As a result, Yemen will now be a special guest at the 35th Tehran International Book Fair.

Being Iran’s major trade fair for books, the TIBF has been turned into a landmark, momentous book fair in West Asia after 34 editions in a row. Millions of visitors inspect the fair every year, including thousands of university students, scholars, and their families.
